Federal Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice Solicits Comments
On July 8, 2010, the federal Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention published a “Request for Public Comments” in connection with the Coordinating Council's examination of federal policies and practices that affect children, youth, and families in four priority areas:
- education and at-risk youth
- juvenile reentry and transitions into adulthood
- racial/ethnic disparities in juvenile justice and related systems
- tribal youth and juvenile justice.
The Coordinating Council was established by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, and is chaired by Attorney General Eric Holder and Acting OJJDP Administrator Jeff Slowikowski.
Interested individuals and organizations are invited to submit ideas, insights, reflections, and suggestions related to juvenile justice and related sectors. Comments are due by August 9, 2010. To view the full request and access detailed guidance on submitting comments, click here.
