All interested individuals—both youth and adults—are invited to join the Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) as Members at Large.
CJJ is the national leadership association of governor-appointed state advisory groups on juvenile justice, in all U.S. states and territories and the District of Columbia, and likeminded allies.
- CJJ’s chief concerns include optimal implementation of the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA), reducing over-reliance on juvenile detention and incarceration, and building safe communities by promoting the most effective, racially/ethnically fair and developmentally appropriate responses to juvenile delinquency.
- CJJ conducts its work through broad-based engagement of state-based juvenile justice leaders and practitioners, training and technical assistance, government relations and coalition building, research-based publications and information dissemination.
- CJJ is the principal partner and fiscal host of the [1] National Juvenile Justice Network and co-chair of the National Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Coalition and the [2] Act-4-Juvenile Justice Initiative.
[3] CJJ is honored to celebrate more than 25 years of service to youth, the nation and our members.
CJJ is a true coalition and proudly represents a diverse body of more than 1,800 members–juvenile justice practitioners, service providers, youth, parents, public officials, concerned citizens and others—all dedicated to creating optimal delinquency prevention programs, policies and practices, and ensuring that every court-involved youth is given an opportunity to reclaim his/her life and connect positively with family and community life.
An annual Member at Large application fee is $100.00/year. A student rate of $35.00/year is also available.
Member at Large benefits include:
- Reduced registration fees at CJJ conferences and events;
- An automatic subscription to CJJ’s monthly newsletter delivered by email: the Juvenile Justice e-Monitor;
