"New State Advisory Group (SAG) Member Training"
The coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ), since 1984, has served as the national association of State Advisory Group Members, as well as allied individuals and organizations. CJJ members work collectively to create optimal approaches to delinquency prevention and juvenile justice, in keeping with the principles and goals of the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA). CJJ is YOUR RESOURCE - all of our work is member-driven and member informed, including the board of directors, leadership committees, policy council, listserves, on-line resource library, newsletters and publications.

"Social Media Webinar"
Presenter Mac Prichard, a consultant with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, provided an overview of the wide array of social media tools available and explained how and why they work. Presenter Benjamin Chambers, an editor at Reclaiming Futures, shared best practices and step-by-step instructions on how to launch your own blog or other social media tools, and how to build participation and measure results.

"State Three-Year Plans and Child Welfare-Juvenile Justice Systems Integration"
In collaboration with the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), CJJ hosted a conference call featuring John Tuell, Director of the Child Welfare-Juvenile Justice Systems Integration Initiative at CWLA. The call discussed: 1) the connection between child maltreatment and juvenile delinquency and the need for an integrated approach to the provision of programs and services across child welfare and juvenile justice systems; and 2) the Initiative’s direct connection to State Three-Year Plans, especially for coordinating child abuse and neglect and delinquency program planning efforts and collecting and sharing juvenile justice information.

“The Role of Justice in Youth Violence Prevention"
CJJ and UNITY (Urban Networks to Increase Thriving Youth) co-hosted a teleconference with presenters Annie Lyles and Anthony Perez of the Prevention Institute in Oakland, CA. The teleconference presented models from cities transcending the traditional borders of a criminal justice approach by also incorporating a public health/prevention approach to address violence, including multi-sector collaboration, community action and structural improvements.

"Making a Difference: Implementation Strategies to Make Use of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices"
Facilitated by Karen A. Blase, Ph.D., of the National Implementation Research Network, this Webinar presented practical strategies and frameworks for selecting, installing and sustaining evidence-based programs and practices.

"The National Community of Practice on School Based Behavioral Health: Focusing on Building a Deeper Juvenile Justice Connection"
Presenters Joanne Cashman, Ed.D., Director of the IDEA Partnership, and and Ed Morris, Ph.D., Adjunct Instructor for the Center for Advancement of Mental Health Practices in Schools at the University of Missouri and a Missouri State Advisory Group Member, presented the Communities of Practice approach, a strategy that crosses typical agency and geographic boundaries to unite decision makers, implementers and consumers around persistent problems.
